Simply Betty Good Verse Evil

Good afternoon everyone, I am blogging today with my entry for The Simply Betty facebook fanpage challenge. If you love Betty's stamps then this is the group to be in. We were very generously given a choice of stamps, (which can now be purchased) either Roxie the good mermaid or Spika, the bad mermaid.
I was lucky enough to get Roxie :)
& here is my creation

I used a foil paper I had in my stash & layered it with a mat I made using distress inks & a mask, they were done to tie in with the colours I used on the image. I then printed & cut out some elements from a digi kit, using craft artist to resize, recolour etc. On some of them I used glossy accents, clear embossing powder or glitter embossing powder.
I arranged the card & glued down, using pinflair for added depth.

A close up of the fabby image. She has been coloured in promarkers with a little touch of glitter added.

I hope you like her, thanks so much for stopping by.
I appreciate any comments you may leave.

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges:

Just Inspirational Challenges- Team B Penny Blossom

Good morning everyone & welcome to another week & another challenge from team B at

This week we are sponsored by the wonderful

& they are offering the winner of this challenge
a $15 voucher for the store, fab isn't it.

As usual we have an inspirational photo for you
& here it is
& here is my make,

I used Domestic Fairy, which you can find in the shop
as you can see I used the pink, blue & yellow as my inspiration from the photo.
My backing paper was made by inking some card in Worn Lipstick distress ink, I then ran some of the card through an embossing folder, sanded back the raised parts & inked with Tumbled Glass.
I then made some matching paper roses & used some satin ribbon to divide the embossed side of the backing paper from the plain side.

I used promarkers to colour her, added some glitter to her duster & her wings. Then I used my Perfect Layers tool to add some matting & layering.

She is not as decorated as I would have liked but it's been a crazy week for me, I tore the tendons in my leg, so I am now in a cast & finding it difficult to do anything.
Thanks so much for stopping by & don't forget to visit my teamies to see what they have come up with. & as always I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Through The Purple Haze Challenges #2

Good morning everyone & welcome to our second challenge at

Let me start off by saying thank you to everyone who joined us for our first challenge, everyone's entry was fabulous & congrats to all the winners.

So, on to this week's challenge, which we ourselves are sponsoring & we have a mystery prize up for grabs, oh I do love surprises

Our theme this week is:
ANYTHING WITH FLOWERS
I love making flowers so this theme was right up my alley :)

& here are my makes

At the same time as finding out about the challenge I was asked to
make some boxes to give to a hen on her hen weekend. They were to hold
a something old, something new, something borrowed & something blue.
So I decided to do some boxes that would stack & look like a cake.

I made four boxes, the largest being 6"x6"x3" & the smallest being 3"x3"x3"
I made the boxes themselves from cake box board, I love using this as I buy it in A2 & can cut it down, it means I can make boxes bigger than I used to be able to.
I covered each piece of card in Antique Linen distress ink & then stamped around what would be the box lids in Vintage Photo. The bases were stamped using Vintage Photo too but I used the 2nd generation technique.

Once I'd put the boxes together it was time to make all those pretty flowers.

I used Marianne dies & Tim Holtz dies for all the flowers & foliage

I inked some, added glitter to others & gems to some.
I then simply stacked the boxes & glued the flowers on once I was happy with how they looked.
I hope you like my offering, thanks for popping by & I appreciate all of your comments.

By sure to stop by & see what all the other DT members have come up with, you won't be sorry :)
I love forward to seeing everyone's entries

Beautiful Butterflies

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your day is full of sunshine & fun so far :)
Just a quick post from me today as I wanted to share with you a  card I made for my friend to give to
daughter who is turning 4 this weekend.
She is mad about butterflies so.................

I used a digi butterfly paper, brought it into craft artist to give it a rainbow of colours, lowered the transparency so it wouldn't take over the card.
I then simply cut out & glittered lots of butterflies & mounted them onto the sentiment which I layered onto a green pearlescent circle mat.
It's been finished off with a handmade flower which I used as the easel stopper.
I hope you like it

Oh & before I forget, check out my custom signature, I am so chuffed with it. My custom headshot was drawn & inked for me by the fantabulous Betty from
isn't she fab :)

So onto my make for the challenge, I have gone for Anything Goes.

I have used
Happy Hour digital stamp from Kenny K.
you can find her here
I went for a shaped card, used a digi backing paper & decorated with some flowers made from dies
as well as my little doily & flourish dies. For the matting & layering I used my Perfect Layers rulers, I got these from Joanna Sheen & I think they are a great addition to my tools, you can find them here

Just Inspirational Challenges - Little Blue Button

Good morning & welcome to another challenge from Just Inspirational Challenges.
It's the turn of team B

this week & we have a fantastic sponsor -

If you haven't been by their store then you need to, I fell in love with some of the cute images
& adore the simple but cute feel to them.
There is also a great prize up for grabs too

As usual we have a photo for you to use as inspiration & here it is

You can interpret the photo in any way you choose, ie. the shapes, colours, style etc.

Now onto my make, we were given a digi stamp from our sponsor & I had such a hard time deciding on
the one I wanted to use & finally settled on

So here is what I came up with

I wanted to keep it simple & clean & so decided not to use patterned papers, which I think is a first for me. I just stuck to 2 colours of paper & used matts & layers to build up the card. I die cut some circle & layered these also, as well as some flourishes & finishing it off with some cute roses, which I also made in the same 2 papers.

I coloured Miss Lily in promarkers in shades matching the papers.
I wasn't sure about this card, I think I had issues in not using my pretty papers but once I had it all put together I was actually quiet happy. I guess it goes to show that sometimes we really can't judge a project until it's been put together & the finishing touches added.

Thanks so much for visiting & I really hope you'll join us in this week's challenge. Don't forget to visit the main blog & also check out what my
fantabulous teamies have come up with (you'll find the links in the side bar)
Have a wonderful day & I hope the sun is shining in your part of the world

Good afternoon all, I thought I'd share this card with you all, I made it for a friend. I decided to use of my fabby Saturated Canary digis, I just adore using them & want them all!!!!

So here is my make, I used papers from a craft artist digi kit to tie in with the fruit theme of the image, did some matting & layering & finished off with a die cut border, flourish & handmade roses.

The image was coloured with promarkers, I used colour combos I wouldn't normally use, but I do like how she has turned out.

Thanks for visiting.
